System Engineer (Medior/Senior)

Would you like to contribute to the well-being of patients, by creating an innovative microsurgical robot? You could be part of our inspiring team, that is dedicated to innovating surgery by developing a unique microsurgical robotic device. 

At Microsure in Eindhoven, we are developing a new first-of-a-kind microsurgery robot. By reducing the tremor and scaling down the movements of the surgeon, we can for example (re)connect extremely small blood and lymphatic vessels. This is extremely important for example when performing breast reconstruction surgery.


The System Engineer is an essential role within Microsure that spans across all our technical disciplines: software, electronics, mechanics and control. As a System Engineer, you are responsible for the overall integration and documentation at system and subsystem levels of the MUSA3 robot.

You have an essential position in bridging the technical domains and have a broad view of development. You will interact with the Architecture Team and report to the CTO.

You are a pro-active engineer who likes to get things done in a friendly, hardworking, international start-up environment. You like (and understand to sufficient extent) the various technical disciplines related to system development. You can communicate on technical topics with all these teams. You like working in a structured manner and getting things done. 

You will play an important role in finalizing our product development!


  • Designing, developing and making decisions for our MUSA3 surgical robot.
  • Working on (Sub) System-level design documentation.
  • Helping Configuration Management into place and ensure it is followed in the organization.
  • Supporting activities conducted at Test Houses (such as for EMC).
  • Supporting in-house test development, as performed by our Verification Team.
  • Supporting design transfer to our manufacturing partner.
  • Writing and review product requirements.
  • Other activities required for finalizing product development


  • Highly educated professional with a relevant technical background.
  • 5+ years of experience in teams with multiple disciplines, focused on product development.
  • Pro-active engineer who notices issues or needs, but also takes initiative to solve them.
  • Familiar with a V-model based way of working, and understand how requirements, verification and validation is part of it.
  • Experience in a regulated environment such as automotive, defense, aviation or most preferably: medical device industry.
  • Highly appreciated is experience in robotic device development.
  • You like working on complex technology and aligned documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
  • Enthusiasm for working in a start-up environment with dynamic requirements.
  • Positive attitude, can-do mentality, and flexible.
