Why hospitals should care?

Microsure’s MUSA provides enhanced precision and consistent quality, enabling more microsurgeons to perform high-level surgery. It improves ergonomic posture, solving issues related to accessibility and fatigue. Moreover, MUSA is designed for safety and cost-efficiency, resulting in more adequate treatment and potential faster recovery for your patients. MUSA is a CE-certified medical device and can be part of multiple departments in your facility today.

Partner Maastricht UMC

Plastic surgeons at Microsure’s clinical partner Maastricht University Medical Center+ were the first to use MUSA to surgically treat lymphedema in a patient. This world's premier super-microsurgical intervention with 'robot hands' took place in 2017. Maastricht University Medical Center+ is now conducting several clinical research projects with MUSA, in different fields of hand and finger replantation, nerve repair, DIEP-flap surgery and Lymphatic Venous Anastomosis (LVA).

Lymphatic surgery

Lymphedema is a serious disorder, with limited treatment options. Microsure’s MUSA enables lymph nodes restoration for lymphatic vessels as small as 0.3 mm in diameter. It scales down movements and filters out tremor to increase precision in this delicate supermicrosurgical procedure, while decreasing the challenge and complexity of these type of interventions dramatically.

Free flap surgery

Upper or lower extremity reconstruction using free flaps for various indications is common practice nowadays. MUSA provides the stability and precision to assist you while performing at your highest level, and improves accessibility to those difficult sites.

Hand surgery

MUSA can be used for delicate hand surgeries, for instance finger replantations or other reconstructions after complex injuries, involving blood vessels, nerve tracts and other soft tissue structures.

Other applications

In future, MUSA will increase the number of microsurgical procedures that can be performed with robotic assistance and enable new interventions that are currently difficult to perform by hand.
